don't be a loaf.
kilter no more loafing around meatloaf
traditional meets kilter…
And it tastes so good. The kilter turkey loaf is a spin on a traditional meatloaf. It uses the same comforting principles with kilter-friendly ingredients.
kilter hack #1: cut into slices and freeze them. Makes for an easy lunch to grab. Heat up in microwave or our personal favorite, toaster oven.
INGREDIENTS:
2lbs ground turkey
4 eggs
2 cups (cooked) quinoa
2 red bell peppers
1 yellow onion
2 cloves of garlic
2 tbsp salt
1 tbsp ground pepper
1 tsp smoked paprika
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 385 degrees.
Cook quinoa according to directions and set aside.
kilter hack #2: cook extra quinoa to have extra for your week.
Chop bell peppers, onions and garlic and place into a food processor. Blend until smooth, roughly 45 seconds to 1 minute.
kilter hack #3: add more kilter veggies to pack a veggie punch. remember that water-dense veggies can sog things down. drain your veggies before you add them. -sally, kilter member since 2015
kilter hack #4: IF YOU LIKE IT SPICY, TRY ADDING JALAPENOS AND KILTER HOT SAUCE. SIRACHA WORKS IN A PINCH.
In a large bowl, mix raw ground turkey and eggs with your hands. Get in there.
Add pepper, onion, garlic mix from your food processor to bowl, add spices and mix thoroughly.
Place mixture into 9x13 non-greased baking pan
kilter hack #5: best cooked in a 9x13 pan versus a traditional loaf pan
Cook for 40 minutes. Add a few minutes of broil at the end to create a nice top crust. Keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn.
Let cool a few minutes before serving. Cut into chunks and serve. We like it with kilter green beans on the side.
