The gut-check smoothie works best if you consume it within 30 minutes of waking up each morning. Be sure to use a blender strong enough to break down the fruits and vegetables into a consistent texture to drink without pesky chunks getting in the way. (I like the NutriBullet or Ninja — find what works best for you.)
kilter hack #1: For single servings, slice and dice your ingredients into small Ziploc bags or containers. They can be stored in your fridge or freezer to quick access during busy mornings.
kilter hack #2: Make a double or triple batch on your start day. Store the extras in the fridge and give ‘em a quick blend on the following days. Easy-peasy.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/4 c baby kale & spinach mix
- 1/4 navel orange
- 1/4 lemon (a squirt of juice works too!)
- 1/4 lime (a squirt of juice works too!)
- 1/3 c pineapple (frozen is better than canned)
- 1/4 pear
- 1/4 cucumber
- 1/2 tsp fresh ginger (look for the fresh tube in your grocery refrigerated produce section)
- 1/2 celery stick
- 1/4 c parsley
- 1/3 c water (more to assist blending, if needed)
DIRECTIONS: Add all ingredients to your blender. Blend to consistency. You may need to add a little more water if you find your blender not getting the job done.
